A Specialist Equestrian Coach is also called a
Showjumping / Dressage Instructor or Performance Horse Coach.
For this career, you should already be an experienced competitor in the area you plan to teach in. You could travel to where your students keep their horses and train them at their stable to prepare for competitions.
It may be that your student has not yet started competing and you give them the confidence to start, or they could already be an experienced competitor and you are refining their skills.
You may attend competitions with them and their horse; helping them with their competition preparations and warm-up; walking the course to go over final strategies; preparing them and their horse and then calling their dressage tests.
The joy of seeing your students continually improve and compete well is priceless!

I found this video to be quite informative. I especially like how it highlighted the potential tasks in which you might be involved when becoming a specialist equestrian coach. I also agree that as a coach you should already be competitive in the area of discipline/s you choose to specialise in.
Can I just say what a comfort to uncover somebody who really knows what they are talking about on the web. You actually know how to bring a problem to light and make it important. More and more people really need to look at this and understand this side of your story. Its surprising youre not more popular given that you definitely have the gift.
